Who We Are
Monica Schaap Pierce
Monica Schaap Pierce is a doctoral student and Teaching Associate in Theology at Fordham University in the Bronx. Her favorite subjects to teach and write about are: women in religion, world religions, and environmental issues. Monica is an active member of her church, who is regularly invited to speak at other churches about her areas of expertise. Born in the Midwest but now a deeply committed East Coast transplant, Monica has a profound appreciation for both farmland and the city. She is inspired by many people and things in her life: her vivacious toddler daughter, her good-humored husband, a vigorous hike in the woods, gardening barefoot, running on cool mornings, a pair of fashionable high heels, eating at a great restaurant, and visiting art museums in NYC. Monica has a B.A. in Christian Education, a Master of Theological Studies, and a Master of Sacred Theology.
